The 2023 Fast 50 showcases small business tech skills – Washington Technology
Ambreen Javed, CEO of IMS, was a guest speaker at the USDA event held for the benefit of Small-Businesses. Ambreen presented the IMS story and tips on how to grow and operate a small-business. IMS is honored to be sharing the panel that included The honorable Ms. Xochitl Torres Small – Deputy secretary of USDA, Mr. George Sears, Director of USDA OSDBU, Ms. Kimberly Peyser – Deputy Assistant Secretary, Mr. Larry Webb – District director, SBA, Mr. Michael Balthzgar – PCR, SBA for USDA and many others.
We thank the USDA OSDBU for this opportunity to give back to the small business community of enterpreneurs, and engage with USDA procurement and Small-Business Administration in providing information, guidance and opportunities for small-businesses to succeed. IMS named USDA’s FY 2022 Women-Owned Business Contractor of the Year
Alexandria, VA – September 25th, 2023 – IMS, a premiere management and technology consulting firm based out of Alexandria, VA, has been recognized by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as the FY 2022 Women-owned small business contractor of the year for providing exceptional program management and technical services on their BioPreferred Program at Rural Development Housing Services. The award ceremony, presented by USDA’s office of small business utilization (OSDBU), was held on Monday, September 25th, 2023.
USDA’s Rural Development (RD), BioPreferred Program office nominated IMS for its outstanding services, performance, and dedication in providing Program Management, Technical Services, Training and Procurement Services to the mission critical BioPreferred Program. Through our partnership and support at the USDA BioPreferred Program to increase the use of biobased products, contractor reporting of biobased product purchases had increased by over 1000% with $97 million dollars in purchasing reported in FY2022. In addition, voluntary labeling has been streamlined and automated through which companies can apply to have their product become a USDA Certified Biobased Product with over 8000 certified products now in the BioPreferred Program catalog. The team works with ASTM on the standard by which biobased content is measured and on current priorities such as biobased products and climate change and reducing Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).
It is truly an honor to receive this award. IMS started its first engagement at USDA in 2014 and has been serving USDA’s Rural Development program since 2019.
