April Employee of the Month

“Sustainability isn’t about perfection—it’s about small steps and shared purpose.”

This Earth Month, we’re proud to spotlight Caroline Tapscott. From her roots in chemistry to her work at IMS, Caroline has turned her passion for the planet into real-world impact. Her standout achievement? Leading the development of a major federal regulation for the USDA BioPreferred Program, making bio-based products more accessible for everyone.

“Innovation keeps us from getting stuck in ‘how things have always been done,’” Caroline says. “It builds trust and moves the mission forward.”

Whether she’s navigating her “organized chaos” of 99 browser tabs or fueling up with a mid-morning Biscoff cookie, Caroline proves that leadership is about staying curious and making an effort every day.

Happy Earth Month!

Happy Earth Month!

Since 2019, IMS has proudly supported the USDA Rural Development BioPreferred® Program,  turning policy into action, data into insights, and tools into more transparent purchasing. The impact is clear: increased adoption of biobased, American-made products and a stronger, agriculture-driven domestic supply chain.

This Earth Month, as conversations turn to the planet, resilience, and the future, we believe it is important to remember who makes that future possible, and we honor the people who have always cared for the planet: farmers, public servants, scientists, and indigenous communities.

We are proud to support initiatives like the USDA RD BioPreferred Program, because biobased works for people and it works for the planet.
