Integrated Management Strategies based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, is a women-owned small business and management consulting firm that provides an array of business and technical services to Federal Government and commercial clients. 
Position Summary

The Integrated Management Strategies (IMS) Business Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of business development, capture management, and the proposal writing process to secure Federal Government and other types of contracts.  This includes gathering intelligence, building relationships, determining existing resources within the Company, identifying high priority opportunities, and maintaining tracking systems.  The Business Development Manager employs capture management strategies to maximize the probability of winning a particular business pursuit by leveraging resources, relationships, and processes both internal and external to the Company.  The Business Development Manager leads the proposal development process by identifying the proposal team, writing effective proposals, and ensuring the proposal meets the requirements and is delivered on time. 

Leads business development strategy for IMS working closely with Company executives to identify core business strategies, capabilities, and growth opportunities. 
Prepares business development, marketing plans and strategies to support the strategic goals of the company.
Identifies, develops, and tracks opportunities for Federal Government and other contracts.
Builds, develops, and manages trusted relationships with key Federal decision makers to position the company to pursue and win opportunities.
Creates and delivers effective client presentations and proposals that address the specific needs of a current or potential client.
Develops and executes business development plans and coordinates business development efforts to achieve revenue targets.
Develops marketing strategies and assists with planning and executing sales initiatives; actively participates in marketing events for lead generation.
Uses capture management strategies to qualify business opportunities and developing a strategy to improve the probability of winning a strategic opportunity. 
Leads the process of developing proposals that are delivered on time and to the highest standards of professionalism. 
Upon request of the Executive team conducts research, performs special studies and provides professional consultation in the area of new venture analysis.
An MBA or a degree combined with equivalent experience

Minimum 7 years related experience required in business development and proposal writing.
Experience in supporting military and civilian agency customers and delivering technical solutions to the government.
Five years working with Federal Government procurement and contracting processes.
Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute activities, including building internal teams, assessing win probability, and executing plans to respond to and win business with new and existing customers,

A proven track record of successful capture management across Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal Civilian markets across multiple federal organizations 
Experience leading teams in a virtual environment; ability to work through others and get results from teams that do not report directly to you.

Technical writing and proposal development experience.
Strong verbal communication skills and prior experience working closely with the IMS executive team.
Willingness to travel to support customer and potential customer visits.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
